Good day, Gentle Readers. Can you believe that it’s the end of March already? Easter is just around the corner but the wind still howls in the fireplace chimney in my office (which I still have not cleaned/purged yet for Spring).

It’s been another day of sewing like a madwoman and studying for my exam tonight. Thank goodness for my one hour massage with Wendy the Wonderful, Lady of the Magic Hands. She says that I have to learn to breath more efficiently and release my breath from my collarbones instead of my belly. Imagine, at my age, being told that I have been breathing incorrectly all of my life. I’m not inflating my lungs properly (I’ve always been a breath-holder and deep sigher) – they should spread like wings, Wendy says, outwards and upwards as they fill. Who knew? In through the nose, diaphragm and belly rise as the lungs inflate, then release out through the nose, collarbones fall, then chest and belly last.

But I’ve been saving the the best news until last. I’m at week 12 of my Burn the Fat, lose weight quest and….drum roll, please…I’ve lost 10 pounds. TEN pounds. Mainly fat, too. I am so proud of myself. Despite all of the self-doubt and dismay at how slowly it’s coming off, it’s still happening. Yes, I’m two pounds short of my lose-one-pound-a-week goal, but hey, it could have been worse, right?

I’m doing the happy dance.
